Use
For heating machines, shapes and tools ofthe plastic processing industry. Technical process-oriented applications.

Dimensions
Minimum diameter 50 x 20 mm (inner diameter x width), increasing in mms. (special models possible on request for smaller dimensions). Maximum dimensions practically unlimited, depending on the technical requirements.

Temperature
Maximum temperature of heating band surface 350 °C.

Tension (Volt)
Any convenient voltage under the precondition that it should be technically feasible.

Any convenient wattage up to 3.2 W/cm of heating area. (ln special cases, higher power density is possible.)

Connection

Model
Winded heating coil, mica insulation housed in galvanized surface»treated sheet metal. Can also be manufactured in oval or conical shape (special shapes possible) on request. Can be spread, with recesses, with perforations, in multiple-part construction, with insulation or heat-resistant jacket. For continuous heat flow over perforations or depressions in the objects to be heated, the band heater can be Htted with heat conduction plates made cf copper, aluminum or brass. For heat transfer, the band heater must be pressed against the object to be heated. The standard model of the band heaters is not liquid-proof. Testing according to VDE 0720.

Construction characteristics.

A shortened connection box seated on a definite axial position is possible under observation of technical features. Construction of the connection boxes, clamping and shutter fittings, perforations and bores in radial as well as axial position is possible, depending on the requirement.

Use
For mika or ceramic high performance band heaters, to reduce heat radiation losses.

Dimensions
Minimum diameter 80 mm (inner diameter).

Dimensions, width
Intermediate widths from 38 mm to 501 mm in phased dimensions. Execution in 3-phase connection is possible from a width of 97 mm onwards.

Construction characteristics
In the standard model, the connection boxes extend with tangential cable introduction over the total width of the band heater. A shortened connection box located on a certain axial position is possible under observation of the technical features. The construction ofthe connection boxes, clamps and shutter fittings, perforations and bores in radial as well as axial position is possible, depending on the requirement. The section ofthe heat protection housing in the area ofthe connection boxes is insulated by the band heater on account ofthe electrical connections. For the purpose of access, the tightening clamps of the band heaters must be arranged on the side of the hinged or removable section of the heat protection housing. The radial division ofthe heat protection housing can be arbitrary.

Model
Manufactured from galvanized, surface-treated sheet metal, special models in stainless steel. Heat protection housing, 2-part construction, hinged with the help of joints, clamping with quick fastening shutters. Function as heating I cooling combination with air entry and outlet nozzles. Heat Protection Housing with Insulation (WSMl)

Use
For band heaters, for further reduction of heat radiation losses and for limiting the heat protection housing surface temperature to about 65 °C (measured at the band heater with 30 mm insulation jacket and about 10 mm air column for cylinder temperature of 245 °C).

Dimensions
Minimum diameter 80 x 30 mm (inner diameter x width), maximum dimensions practically unlimited, depending on the technical requirements. Multiple-part construction possible for relatively large band heater diameter.

Attachment
The heat protection housing with insulation jacket is assembled along with the actual band heater as one unit. A subsequent fitting of band heaters with insulated heat protection housing is possible under certain conditions. The band heaters can be removed for the purpose of replacement.

Instructions on construction
Construction of connection boxes, clamps and shutter fittings, hinges, perforations and expansions is possible in radial as well as axial positions, depending on the requirement. The section of the insulated heat protection housing in the area of the connection box is insulated by the band heater on account of the electrical connections. For the purpose of access, the clamps of the band heaters must be arranged on the side of the hinged or removable section of the heat protection housing with insulation jacket. The radial division ofthe insulated heat protection housing can be arbitrary.

Cast Aluminium and Cast Bronze heaters offer optimum heat transfer directly to the contact surface. These heaters are usually custom designed in house using state of the art cad ware alongside many years experience to obtain maximum heater life. Every shape and size can be manufactured in our modern patternshop and foundry, before being fully machined in our machine shop prior to termination at final assembly. There are many terminations available from metric to American threads, high temperature leads to high temperature plug and socket arrangements.

They can be designed as heater only, water/oil cooled or air cooled. Insulated or un-insulated cowls are available in sheet steel or Cast Aluminium.
